Mailhandler Contract Arbitration Award Released!


This morning the details of the NPMHU Arbitration Award were released continuing wage increases and COLA, layoff protection, and the promotion of PTF employees in facilities of (roughly) 200 or more employees to full time within 180 days. The award also slightly increases night differential.

The award reduces the number of casual employees to 5% by installation and eliminates the “in lieu of” provision or Article 7.1b. It also creates a new category of “Mail Handler Assistant”.

The award also sets out a new pay scale that starts lower than the current scale but allows employees to reach the same top step as current mail handlers.
